Woa, long time no update. Anyways it's sem-break and people are asking if the tournament will resume. No. The community is just recovering from a lack of play and participation. Resuming the tournament would be far from productive. What must definitely resume though are our weekend games. Open sponsored (rcon) games will be available to all people every FRI, SAT and SUN from 9PM onwards.

Don't forget to log in using mIRC at irc.mydestiny.net rooms #dogz #dod and #dayofdefeat. Games will be launched from chat including server IP and rconner information. Also be sure to drop by http://dogz.mydestiny.net forums once in a while. Some games are organized through the use of DOGZ boards...

If you have any questions or suggestions don't be timid to email or leave a message on the boards.

The TOURNAMENT IS SUSPENDED until either Christmas or summer vacation. Everyone has been busy lately. But don't fret, DoD lives on. Official 'Fun Play' every Friday and Saturday from 9PM onwards. Hopefully by break/vacation season we can get going with the tournament or create something new. I hear DOGZ is planning to support a DOD Tournament soon with the help of VDJ. TO JOIN THE DOD CLAN WARS TOURNAMENT :

1 ) Form a clan with at least 8 members (they all must be able to play separately, no 
     sharing comps)

2 ) Must be a clan which does not contain members from other dod clans (eg : two dod 
     clans , one player)

3 ) Contact Info, Website URL (optional), must know how to use mIRC chat and the 
     DOGZ boards.
     - create your clans' chat room on irc.mydestiny.net (for communication purposes)
        note : use the /msg nickserv help and /msg chanserv help for registering etc...
     - other stuff you want to be known about your clan.

4 ) CAN Commit themselves to playing on the scheduled dates and/or rescheduled dates

MAIL Clan Information or POST it on the boards.

MATCH FORMAT : 23.3.2003

A. ROUND ROBIN before Final 4
    - matches TBA, on a free server, password protected (probably)

B. BEST OF 7 ROUNDS to win a MATCH

    - first to 4 ROUNDS WINS THE MATCH

    - CHANGE SIDES (Allies/Axis) after every 2 ROUNDS
    - when the change is clean one team must be ALLOWED to 
     capture all the flags to restart the round.

    - MAP ROTATION (up to rcon controllers)
         - FIRST ROUND serves as WARM-UP
         - The Official Match starts when one team ALLOWS the other to capture all 
              the flags to restart the round.

    - in the event that no clan gets 4 ROUNDS within a certain amount of time, (usually
      not more then an hour into the Official Match) and are within a ROUND of each 
      other marginally (ex : 1 - 0), and are not in the 3 - 2 position they can call to PLAY 
      A SUDDEN-DEATH ONE ROUND MATCH WIN.
    
    - the clans LEADERS may UNANIMOUSLY POSTPONE a game due to technical or other 
      valid reasons

C. 8-on-8 Player Teams
    - must be from the clan, subs or more players are allowed if both parties agree
    - 2 subs and/or observers for each team.
 

GENERAL RULES :

1 ) NO Flamers and Lamers (baiting, flooding etc...)

2 ) A Clan which cannot make it to the match on time (really late), didn't reschedule at
     least a week before, and/or don't have at least 6 players at all times is defaulted
     and looses the match. YOU CAN CHOOSE TO PLAY WITH LESS then 8 PLAYERS.

3 ) Practice Matches are allowed but are separate from the Official DODCWT Site
     Standings.

4 ) Clan Founders and/or Leaders must regularly check the site and message boards for
     information.

5 ) Not following the FORMAT can lead to DISQUALIFICATION of the MATCH. (eg : 
     allowing one team to restart the round)

6 ) CHEATERS will be kicked/banned. They'll also loose the respect of the entire 
      DOD community

7 ) We are using DOGZ servers for the tournament so please observe DOGZ rules.

COMPLEX MATCH ISSUES :

Regarding 'Less players and Tardiness'

1 ) The team who has less then 6 members in a match (the other is complete) has 
     30 minutes to wait for 'coming members'. If the team still has less members then the 
     other after the time, they can either choose to fight or forfeit. NO rescheduling is 
     allowed unless it is due to a VALID technical reason which will be be confirmed with 
     the rcon handler and Destiny Cable Internet.

2 ) If both teams have less then the prescribed number of minimum players (6) they 
     must fight after the 30 minute period regardless or forfeit the game to the other 
     team.

- these rules were made for everyone's advantage, to avoid waste of time and avoid 
  rescheduling into other persons' personal schedules

- to reschedule one must either have a VALID technical reason, or must do so at least 
  ONE week ahead to inform all parties involved


Regarding 'Illegal Players for Matches'

To make the matches relatively easy to monitor for the team representatives and the rcon handler, only players included in the official list (the player list above) can play.

1 ) Clans must recruit players at least 3 days before a match they intend them to play in.

2 ) Clans must send the players complete tag and nickname information to this site. 
    (either through email or posting on the boards)

- to ensure fairness when dealing with clans who recruit on the spot before or during a 
   match (recruitment should be a due process)

- to ensure validity of players who are on the clan for real or just a quick substitution

- newly recruited players (those not on the list) who FAKE an absent clan members 
  nickname is strictly prohibited

AWARDS : 23.3.2003

Other then being crowned THE DOD CHAMPIONSHIP CLAN (maybe we'll setup a fund for prizes...haha), there will be other individual or team awards. MVP of the Match. MVP of the Tournament. Most Improved. Best Sniper. Best Assaulter. Friendliest... etc...
